Property description
This 4-person holiday home is located on a 900m² idyllic garden property in La Mancha near Icod de Los Vinos, only about 150 m above sea level. The location is wonderfully quiet, as the property is on the outskirts of La Mancha in a cul-de-sac with only a few houses.
A subtropical garden is right in front of the entrance door, the highlight of which is a 5 x 8 metre pool (not heated). In the garden you will find various secluded corners to retreat to. The property is enclosed all around.
La Mancha is located on the northwest coast of the island of Tenerife in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos. The village of la Mancha is small, very local with a few shops and nice local restaurants. Icod de los Vinos, about 10 minutes away by car, has a bit more to offer. For example, the "thousand-year-old dragon tree" with a beautiful nature park with a cave. Other sights in the area are: the cave "Cueva del Viento", the doll museum and the old town. The old town of the village has a southern and romantic ambience with historical buildings, cosy cafés, shops and a beautiful plaza.
Equipment
The holiday home is furnished in a rural-Mediterranean style. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bed in the master bedroom is 180 x 200 and the accompanying bathroom is an en suite bathroom. The smaller bedroom has a double bed 140 x 200 and the bathroom is next door.
The living room with a conservatory is spacious and offers a sofa bed and various seating areas, perfect for relaxing. One sofa can be folded out. In the bookshelf you will find a small selection of books for holiday reading. WLAN is also available and TV.
The house has a rustic country kitchen with modern appliances including an oven and dishwasher.
All in all, the perfect symbiosis of tranquillity and accessibility in a mild climate zone. The view of the Teide and the tranquillity ensure that you can fully relax and enjoy your holiday. From the upper terrace and the garden you can also see the sea. In front of the house, there is a covered terrace with a view of the pool. A wonderful place to eat, drink coffee and sit together.

We enjoyed our time in La Mancha very much. There is plenty of space and comfort in the house and garden for two, lots of peace and quiet and everything you need for a nice holiday. The atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed, and although you are quickly in Icod or on the ring road, you have the feeling of being at the end of the world. When the weather is nice, you have a great view of the Teide. The pool is nice and big, and there are floaties and deck chairs. The landlords are very friendly, easy to reach, flexible and helpful. We will be happy to come back!

This year we spent our winter holidays on Tenerife. One month on the south-east coast and one month on the green north coast. For us as a retired couple, the green north was clearly the better choice.
Casa Alegre, the "happy house", is a very good description for this very nice holiday home in the very quiet La Mancha, embedded in banana plantations.
Bright, friendly, spacious, perfectly equipped and situated in an exotic palm garden with a - in summer certainly fantastic pool - we had everything we could imagine for our well-being. Comfortable seating and lounging furniture and various dining areas inside and outside the house, plus good internet/WLAN, Sat-TV and NETFLIX on a large FLAT-TV.
Of course you need a rental car, like almost everywhere on Tenerife. When not in use, it was safely parked in the locked garage.
The hiking possibilities at the house are limited. A 7-minute walk between the banana plantations gives you a great view of the Atlantic above the cliffs.
La Mancha is then within walking distance uphill.
The owners of the Casa have lived on Tenerife for a long time. Sabine and Markus know their way around. The arrival was well taken care of by good directions and telephone contact.
Sabine welcomed us warmly and showed us around the house and property.
We were also pleased with their welcome gift. We could take her invitation to feel at home here literally with a clear conscience.
We were able to communicate with Sabine and Markus constantly by phone and WhatsApp. This made us feel very safe, especially as they could be with us in about 20 minutes if needed. We experienced their hospitality and warmth several times during the 4 weeks when they provided us with wine and delicious meat products. For us it was a holiday among friends.
Once again, many thanks to Sabine and Markus.For us, the Tenerife holiday was a hiking holiday in unique nature. We were only in the cities on three days. We used Komoot on the smartphone as a hiking guide, with great success.
On the few foggy days, we were above the clouds in the Teide National Park within 1 hour and were able to hike there in glorious sunshine.
Thanks to our wonderful holiday home with a great garden, we also spent a lot of time in and around the house. Especially on the Calima days (sand and dust storm from Africa), the house was a pleasant refuge for us.
Because of its size, Tenerife is the ideal holiday island, also for repeat holidaymakers.The accommodation was beautiful and met my expectations
