Igueste idyllic mountain village Tenerife

Igueste, a charming and idyllic mountain village in a narrow, green valley.

If you are looking for a small village without touristic bustle, you are at the right place.
Igueste extends along a fertile barranco to the sea.

The small white painted stone houses on steep slopes can be found on the edge of a Barranco. On the steep slopes there are many orchards and vegetable gardens. The fishing village offers you typical Canary holidays in the midst of the locals.

Here in Igueste the street ends. If you want to go on, you have to walk.
From here, you can hike to the Anaga mountain range (northwards) or to Playa de Antequera (eastwards).

The well-known beach Playa de las Teresitas, with fine yellow sand from the Sahara and green palm trees, is about 7km eastwards, in San Andres. The well-tended beach is about 2km long, on a large bay, and there are sufficient parking spaces and snack bars.

gueste is not only a quiet holiday place, but also an ideal starting point for hikes to the surrounding mountains which are only about 500m above sea level.

Especially the Anaga mountain range belongs to the most beautiful hiking areas of Tenerife. Many parts of the Parque Rural de Anaga remained unspoilt and are under conservation.

A walk to the beach Playa de Antequera, which takes about one hour, is definitely worth it. The bay with fine lava sand invites you to refresh yourself in the Atlantic. Due to the fact that the bay can only be reached on foot, you can expect that there are only few people.
