Playa de Alcala Beach - natural bays - Alcala coast region
Playa de Alcala is situated in the town of the same name on the South West coast of Tenerife. The small and beautiful bay is close to the Plaza. A little bit hidden and only known by local people, there is a further natural bay.
The beaches
Playa de Alcala and Playa de la Barrera
Both bays are natural, mix of sand and gravel, on the right there is a concreted platform with benches. Here you can use the ladder in order to swim in the ocean. The bays are mainly visited by local people.

The town of Alcala
Alcala is considered as the most beautiful coast town on the South West of the island Tenerife. The weather is sunny and warm the whole year through. Alcala is situated in the best clime zone of the island.
There are only one hotel in town and a couple of holiday apartments. A little distance outside of Alcala (approx. 1 -3 km) you will find several holiday fincas. Here, you can spend your holiday amongst local people, but with a good infrastructure.
For an extensive beach day, the best is to drive to the Playa San Juan (4km) or to the Costa Adeje beaches (approx.15 driving minutes)
