Playa San Marcos - Beach at the North-West Coast

The town San Marcos and the beach Playa de San Marcos are situated near cod de los Vinos, directly at the sea at the North-West Coast of Tenerife. The black sand beach is sheltered by the bay.

Playa San Marcos is a small town, although it has some hotels and apartment houses. In the surroundings you will find several private holiday apartments. The beach is not so crowded like for example the beach in Puerto de La Cruz and you can peacefully relax and sunbathe.

The beach is also very suitable for families with children, since the beach is protected from strong or high waves. Furthermore, there a toilets, showers and a emergency station in case of injuries.

Right at the beach you can find some cafés and restaurants with a terrace and a beautiful view on the sea. The local fishermen provide them with fresh fish and seafood on a daily basis. Therefore, especially the locals love to eat here.

Right next to the beach you find a small mole with several fishing boats. If you are willing, you may start a guided kayak tour from here.

Starting in Playa San Marcos, you will quickly get to know the northwest of Tenerife. The coastal towns of Buenavista del Norte, Garachico y Puerto de la Cruz you can reach within 15-20 minutes by car. The closest bigger place, around 3 kilometers away, is Icod de los Vinos.
