Tenerife has 2 aiports, one of them, Tenerife South Airport „Aeropuerto Sur Reina Sofia“, is situated in the south of Tenerife between El Médano and Las Chafiras. Most of the holiday-makers land at Tenerife South Airport. The reason is, that most of the airlines approach Tenerife South Airport, because most of the hotels, private holiday apartments and holiday houses are in the south.
In the past, you had to go to Tenerife North Airport, if you wanted to visit the other Canary Islands. Nowadays, you can also go to La Gomera, Fuerta Ventura,... from Tenerife South Airport.
