Taganana Tenerife Taganana in the Anaga mountain
Taganana – the original
The small picturesque village, in the extreme north of the island, is located near the coast in the Anaga mountain range.
You get to this beautiful place on a switchback, which leads through the Anaga mountain range. It is the biggest one in the Anaga mountain range, and has only 700 inhabitants.
The houses were built onto the mountain slopes. In Taganana they also produce excellent wine. In the town there are many simple but very good restaurants where they offer fresh fish. If you come here on Sunday at lunchtime, you can sometimes see the locals celebrating and singing old ballads.
Out at sea there is a rock formation which is called “sea lion family” by the locals. Whenever it’s possible, people are surfing.
One can say – it’s a quiet and isolated place.
