Playa La Jaquita is a beautiful new sandbeach in Alcala

You can reach the new built sand beach from the boardwalk. The beach is located at the outskirt from Alcala. Here is also a Finca with its own access to the beach. The holiday makers on this finca, walk the private path through a banana plantaion until they reach the sea.

Alcala, is an old fishermen's village and is located at the sunny southwest coast of Tenerife. Here you have one of the best climatic zones.

The water is really clear, the beach has fine black lava sand and a beach bar. Furthermore you can rent sun loungers and sun umbrellas and there are also toiletts and showers. One the way to thte beach, you pass by sea water pools. Most of the locals prefer this swimming and beach options. This beach is good to reach for people with a handicap. The boardwalk ends right at the beach and can be used by whealchairs.

All in all, this is a good place to enjoy the sun ♒ swimming ♒ relaxing and forgetting about the daily stress.

The beach Playa La Jaquita

The beach isn't very big and is sloping down to the water. So far, this beach does not have the blue flag, but it already offers everything a well-maintained beach needs: it has clean and clear water, a good view - on many days you can even see the neighbour island - sun loungers and sun umbrellas which you can rent, toilettes, showers, a beach bar and life guards who take care of the visitors safety. If you don't want to rent sun loungers, you can lie down in the sand on your beach-towel... Just relaxing, doing nothing and knowing that in Alcala, the sun shines almost 365 days a year.

On the way to the beach you will pass by pretty seawater pools. Following the boardwalk, you will walk along the sea and see beautiful gardens.

Our tip: at the outskirt of the town Alcala there is a Finca with 5 private holiday houses which have their own access to the beach.

The Location Alcala

The former fishermen's village did grow in the last years. Now you have many small stores and shops, and a low-rise hotel which appearance is fitting to the other buildings in town. The town Alcala and the holiday makers (also the holiday maker who rent their own apartment) benefit of it. There is a nice and new long boardwalk which leads you to the beach while passing by beautiful gardens and there are cafés right at the sea. Nevertheless, Alcala kept many original things. On and around the Plaza you will still find the old feeling and atmosphere. Old people are sitting in the shade of ancient trees and no one is stressed or in a rush... everything and everyone is calm and easy-going.
